Sreenivasarao's blogs are very detailed, informative and compiled painstakingly. We are all indebted to him for the yeoman's service he has rendered to Hindu and Indian thought.

VaishNavites used to say a thing or two about the Pillarwho merely recites the Vedas, without comprehending its meaning, would be like a pillar (sthaanu)

Here a Saivaite invokes that: https://youtu.be/r67b1-fvrLI?t=3054
TNS in his gIta govindam actually missed that nuance. He mocked those who say they have been listening to music for 40 years - with this - "the Pillar in Thirumalai Nayak Mahal was also listening for 400 years!"
