Hard to tell from the 30second clip for me but I wondered if I heard more it may confirm my first impression that it sounded like Bahudari.

Sachi, thanks.

I do not know Jog but that little clip reminded me a bit of Bahudari but not very decisively and you detected Jog.
This link indicates that indeed the hindustani counterpart of Bahudari is Jog.

Is that indeed true?

If the question is about the first tillAnA, it is indeed tilang.

The first clip wasn't enough to detect the key feature of Tilang - the two Nis.
The way that bit moved emphasized the Ga and had a touch of the second Ga - a key feature of Jog.

Both are Hindustani imports. Bahudari and Gambhira Nata are purely CM!

Tilang is a favourite of composers. Remember the famous Ravishankar Yehudi Menuhin piece?

I don't deny the similarities between any of these ragas (although with jog, I hear nattai more than anything else). Admittedly, I turned to base rates here. When presented with a (dance) thillana that sounds like that, 9x out of 10, it's what everything else is. So kudos to you for taking the more thoughtful route.

My favorite reference for thilang is "indru poi naalai vaarai," from sampoorna ramayanam. The singer CS Jayaraman has a voice that is surely classically trained. Lovely tremolos and a very high reach.
