Found a book that offers a clue of pArsi jAvaLis

Post by kkbava »

Friends,

I began posting jAvaLi lyrics at https://javali.blog some years ago. What started as an initiative to share the lyrics my mother collected towards her M.Phil and Ph.D, continued beyond her collection.

Internet gave me 2 strange collections that had pArsi jAvaLis - "pArsi sabhAranjita jAvaLi", and "pArsi sarasamOhana jAvaLi". We're currently posting the lyrics from the second book.

I became a little curious about jAvaLis in pArsi language (am a total novice in that space), and further search showed a book at https://www.academia.edu/44394952/Tamil ... connection - which briefly explains the Madras - Parsi connection.

(Trivia: Gulebakawali Katha is apparently Gul-e-Bakawali - a persian story that has been made as a movie in several Indian languages)

This book mentions another pArsi jAvaLi book too "Concurrently, publications such as Parsi sarasa mohana javali (Enchanting Parsi Javalis) and Parsi atiyarputa javali (Amazing Parsi Javalis) appeared, several associated with drama companies."

Reason for this post is to request if any of you heard of this book "pArsi atiyarbuta jAvaLi" and request you to share with me/us if you have it.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Krishna Kishore (kk)
