Some of us had the great privilege to interact with him during his stay at SV Temple Pittbsurgh in the early 90s. He is such a lovely human being and a great teacher.

By the way, the date on this video says January 2007. Futuristic, perhaps?

Nice.. Regarding the date, that looks like the release date and this video is probably the EPK ( electronic press kit ) for the January release.

I know Shri Subhashchandran from my boyhood. He is still the innocent, pious and intelligent SUBHASH anna for us. However a few words about the video. It appears like a promo for a professional video, downloaded from youtube. The interview (as it appears) would not have served any purpose of talk on ghatam, learning, practice or performance with Subhashji's communicating skills. The seriousness of establishment is lost in the hurried ameturish recording. It must have had an english subtitle,with Subhash speaking conviniently in Tamil. Our music is better expressed only in mother tongue with the conventional terminology. When we attempt to make our great music global, care should be taken to present it with authority and unambiguity. Hope Subhashji notes the point. Moreover this is not something rare or a worth preserving clipping deserving a repeat in rasikas.org! please avoid.
