I am shooting this thread for vicha bhAgavathar, after reading manakkAl srirAm's review of a concert of Suryaprakash at calicut. Can some one throw more light on vicha bhAgavathar.(googling did not help much).
How many compositions did vicha bhagavathar compose? What is special about his compositions? Who are his sishya paramparAs who are continuing his legacy? These are just few questions to set the ball rolling...

Rajesh - 'vicha' possibly refers to Viswanatha Bhagavatar, father of TVG.
Here's a mention of him:
"T.V.Gopalakrishnan comes from a musical family and was born at Tirupunithurai. His father T.G.Viswanatha Bhagavathar was a musician to Cochin Royalty and Professor of Music, S.K.V.College, Trichur. A disciple of Palghat Anantarama Bhagavathar and a versatile vocalist and instrumentalist, he shaped his son in his impressible years to flower into a top artiste."

jayaram,
I think calicut vicha bhAgavathar is different , see the result of google
http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/user ... index.html
Also I am not sure if TVG's dad vishwanAtha bhagavathar can be called vicha. Is vicha a shortened malayAlam name for vishwanathan , just like how all vishwanathans in Tamil are called visu or vicchu
