Main artist : Saketha raman (!)
Violin : venkatram HKL
Mrithagam : sudhindra

Actually I missed Saketharaman in 2006 season in Chennai. I heard good reviews of him and
he is one of the emerging artist. So I wanted to make sure I donot miss him this time in Blore.
It was a two hour concert and an average of 30-40 people were there and towards the end it was twenty. It was a
rainy day and the attendence was low. I was thinking that all the audience could move towards the dais
and make it a mic-less speaker-less concert.

Now to the main artist,,I have seen Saketharaman only in photo as a very young boy so I
cannot confirm the main artist as he looked at his mid twenties. Any change in program at the last minute..?
Even during the speech , I am sorry to say that I couldnot make out the name of the main artist.

So whoever is the artist the concert was very good and is a typical two hour concert , with a good number of well
known songs. But here goes the list without the details of the varnam and the last two songs (not sure). The todi
alapana and the swarams were really the highlight of the concert. All the other songs though well known , were
presented neatly. Donot ask me for more details in rhythm dept..

5. Todi - Dasarathe (RSNS and Thani followed).
6. Devi Brova Samayamidhe (Is this cintamani)
7. Devagandhari piece (namura .. not sure of the words)
8,9.. Not sure one of them is valaji I think..

I am surprised that respect/interest for 'good' music is so low here. The observation was about some 10-15
students of the mutt moving around with no interest in what is ongoing. More than that every 10 minutes
you can observe some students moving around the hall close to the dais and making noise of the shutters.
I was irritated but later got used to it. The main artist was so involved in music that he was not disturbed
but I can understand others were feeling bad at the state of affairs. Atleast if the sponcers
can restrain the movement of people especially the students of the mutt, I will feel happy of having written
this. But thanks to the prasadam offered at the end of the concert.

Thanks for your post. On the previous day ( on the 27th ) he gave a concert at the Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha. The story is the same. Few attendees , but most stayed till the end. For those who are interested, here is the list.

There are numerous concerts happening around in Bangalore and barring a few well known series ( like Fort School, Seshadripuram or Odukathur ), the attendence is very poor.

The artiste who performed in Sankara madam was Pattabhi Ram Pandit, a disciple of Vidhwan Shri KV Narayanaswamy. As one can make out, the list is very typical of the Ariyakudi Bani.

By any chance, is this the Arabhi kriti nA morAlanu vini? This one is in an almost un-Arabhi-ish slow pace!

It is definitely devagandhari and not arabhi. I think the song is probably what arasi mentioned .
