Mridangam-Mannarkoil Jaya balaji
Violin- Kumar (seems to be AIR artist). His joke is at the end of the review..

This series was inaugurated a week before by CM and TMK also performed a day before in the same place. (I could not attend).. As the name goes, it is full of Tamil Compositions.viz.,

1)Vathapi- Sahana- PS
2)Sabhabadikku-Abhogi-GKB
3)Sadananda-Bahudari-Achutananda
4)Mukari - Raag- Sivakasmasundari- PS
Verywell rendered by the younger one. Touched the finer parts of Mukhari very well. Could have stretched bit more since it was sub-main.
5) Ekklalathilum- Nattakurinji- ???
6) I missed it-went out for a while.
7) Edayya Gathi-Chala Natta-Koteeswara Iyer
8) Un Perumai Evar Arivaar Eesa- Karaharapriya- PS
9) Yaar Poi Solluvar-Todi- ???
10) Kandha enru Oruvan-Tapasvini- Brazil subramnian (Brazil NRI's can be proud of this.)
11) KaNNan varugindra neram-Kavadi Chindu
12) Nee Tattuvamagi- Tiruppugazh- M.marutham

0)This is the first I attend CB's concert. As Arasi pointed out in an earlier review, they had a distinct voice. both has the thick voice but able to blend it nicely. Good to see them singing from their heart. Full of energy. NORMALLY WE DO NOT SEE ANY GREAT SIMILARITY IN THE BROTHERS, BUT, HERE, BOTH OF THEM HAVE - french beard. -

1) For Bahudari, they did Swaram in Sadananda Thandavam, it is nice, if it is in "Muktharum Siddharum" as it is done traditionally. (Could not stop remembering MMI) ...

2) Karaharapriya lacked energy (by the taller one ). He had to render more "sancharams". When he went to lower octave at the end, he could not come up but stopped in between. He had to practise more to "revolutinalise" this raga. He also informed that it is a RARE kriti.

3) They gave the names of the raga and the composer. Hence, I could get Brazil.... This is the second NRI kriti, Iam listening, after Washington Bala.

4) Being Ekadasi, they did not render not many song on "Hari". Some ot 60+ commented after the concert. Most of them are fasting and planning to see the Vaikuntam.. But, CBs did not show them !!!!!

5) Mridangam is Ok. but Violin was not up to the mark.. Kumar, while playing thani for Mukhari and KK priya, was really good but could not back the duo, while the latter were rendering Raaga. Funniest part is, he forgot the pick the violin, at the end of Thani. (May be too mesmerised by the Thani !!!!)

Now the Joke of Kumar- One Violinist was talking to his friend "My main Vidwan booked AC in the train for my next week's outstation concert". His friend asked "Is it First AC or Second AC".
The Violinist replied- "RAC"

ShrI vAtApi gaNapatiyE

3)Sadananda-Bahudari-Achutananda

The composer is ShrI accutadAsa. The compositions were tuned by ShrI KR kumarasvAmi aiyyer (disciple of SSI).

5)Ekklalathilum- Nattakurinji- ???

This one is by rAmasvAmi Shivan

9) Yaar Poi Solluvar-Todi- ?

RAC (reverse of CAR) is the short version of Reservation Against Cancellation.

The sixth song was 'ennai nI maravAdE' in amritavarshiNi. The brothers sang kalpana swarams at 'tamizhp-pATTinilE', a beat before the beginning of the tala-cycle. The tiruppugazh was in Valaji.
