A 2 hour concert at 11.30am. Energetic concert by Gurucharan and as usual he was at his
best. The main piece was delivered pretty well. I remember last time when I saw him in Blore,
at Odukathur mutt, there was a request for Meenakshi Memudam and he delivered it quickly
before the main piece, just the krithi. So he compensated it today by a full treatment.

A very sparse crowd , because it is held in a nonresdiential area. not sure. There were
six concerts for Rs100 (including Vsiva, RK Srikantan). Wondering crowd response is poor.
When I entered the hall Lalkudi GJR Krishnan with Vijayalakshmi were giving the thyagaraja's
Nadaci Nadaci in Karakarapriya.

maithrim bhajatha is in yaman kalyani and not kapi...
meenakshi me mudham as a main piece........wow...wonderful...must hav enjoyed it thoroughly...

Interesting. When was this? I didn't even know about it - Sikkil, RKS, Vijay Shiva & the GJR duo : would have been a nice package for me..

rajaglan, it is meenAkSi mE mudam dEhi (not devi).... that would significantly alter the meaning of the sahityam.

Sowmya,

This is the utsav organised by Catnatica, well advertised. May be I should have mentioned in the upcoming events. But unfortunately there was very little crowd. May be it is ticketed. This is probably held every year, last year in Chennai by [Shashikiran & Soumya]'s carnatica company. Soumya had a inagural concert on friday at Chowdaiah hall. They are probably trying to cover different areas of Blore. Today it is at ISS and the artists are NSG, Prof VVS, Gayathri Venkatraghavan and thrree more non-carnatic events. The lowest fare was Rs100 but you could almost sit in the front row as there was no crowd. Today I didnot go.
