Calling all Natya Rasikas especially Teachers of Dance!

IMHO this is a wonderful and uplifting Classical Dance Drama of the above name from the movie RAHASYAM

http://www.hummaa.com/music/album/15577/Rahasyam

(Please Google: RAHASYAM and GIRIJA KALYANAM if the above link doesn't work.)

I think it will serve as a great dance item for an end-of-the-year Recital that Dance Teachers are planning to put together- there will be parts for many eager students too............

It surely is Sri Ghantasala's Magnum Opus- unfortunately forgotten now- employing the talents of various talented and formidable artists.

Please give it a try- you will not be disappointed!

Surely it is a great composition for the classical dance . however
I feel it is also quite difficult for the present day learners - who
might not have enough time & patience to learn & practice such
master pieces

it is a group item with a good scope for the presentation . esp the
raudra rasa of Siva after disturbed by Manmadha ; the karuna rasa
of Parvati when requesting for the re-birth of Manmadha ; and at
last the Ananda rasa of Parvati when Siva agrees for marriage ...

Actually I was 15 yrs old when I donned the role of shiva in this item . Such fond memories! Its an excellent item and thanks for the recommendation US123.

I don't think it is really that complicated. When we did this item (around 8 ppl) all of them were my age (15 then) except parvathi who was 20 something. The choreography was simple and crisp.
