The improvised kalyani is OK but the following Ragamalikai is good.

He wanted to become an artist like 'Maali' of Vikatan, whom he admired. Joined Arts school.
His friend Babu named him 'Vaali' and wished him success as much as Maali!
( He left Art School ; did not complete .)

IMHO Devan was never an imitator. Comparison with PGW is odious.
Even in Tamil his style was unique and truer to life than Kalki's.
His humour was more akin to Mark Twain than to PGW.
Pity he died young! His memory will live on...

Many have learnt from my articles and in fact, it is because of their insistence, that I published the book....finally.
If one has some patience and persistence, no problem in mastering the grammar of Tamil prosody. Just systematic reading of the articles ..slowly will do the trick. Thanks for your interest.

I started learning only about 10 yrs ago...and I'm still learning

I know how creative most of the Rasikas here are...that's why it would be so nice if they can add the wondeful 'Osai azhagu' that grammar will automatically bring to their efforts.... The grammar of Tamil poetry, in my opinion, is one of the greatest treasures our ancestors have given us.... so scientific and so wonderful...it will be a pity if those interested in Tamil poetry don't learn it.

If each chapter has something like practical exercice, I would then and there submit the home work, though i know i am slower than others. In fact I made an attempt longtime back with கி வா. ஜ ,s book கவிபாடலாம் வாருங்கள் , but could not go far.!
