I was not not sure of the composer. I thought it resembled SyAma Satri's compositions, but Gayatri announced that the composer was Mysore Sadasiva Rao.
The wordings of the composition as sung was different from the one you have referred.

A very lively janaranjani nADAdina mATAlu, Raghavhendra's matching reply. Neraval at talaku ochina bhAda. We think of Harimau often, miss his presence. Once he commented this was not an apt line at all for neraval. Well, the veteran sings it, and musically perhaps it's suitable, though not for the lyrics, as he seemed to frown

VAchaspathi rAgA. kanTa jutumi (NedunEri's speciality).

She must have said Mysore Maharaja as this is a composition of His Highness Jayachamaraja Wodeyar

The Devagandhari song was Dikshitar's rarely heard 'ShalivAtishwaram Bhajeham'. Next is Gopalakrishna Bharathy's 'Satre vilagi irum pillAi' in Poorikalyani.

I went back to her announcement at the end of the song and she DID ANNOUNCE IT as a composition of MYSORE SADASIVA RAO. She may or may not be correct. I reported what she said !

I am sorry Sri Sundara Rajan. I did not mean to question what you had reported.

In that case I feel Smt Gayathri may have inadvertently said the same because both have the Mysore prefix

Thanks for the input. I did not hear 'Chamaraja Udaiyar'. Like Sundara Rajan, just Mysore something--short syllables. MaharAjA it could have been.

A very elaborate Todi alapana. She announced, even though many artists have sung Todi before, this song was a request and that's why she is singing Todi. She sang ' Endu daginAdo'. I have not heard this kriti of Sri Thyagaraja. The violin is very nice.

As for endu dAginADO?--a pet song. Savoring it...Now, neraval in ala nADu kanaka kaSipu...conjures up the whole scene in HiraNya's palace...

CIENU: To satisfy my curiosity, I went to my reference library and did find in the list of JayachAmaraja Wodyar's compositions one mAyAmAlava kriti in dhruva tAla with starting word "KsheerAsagara". I have no recourse to the lyrics to be sure we are talking about the same one ! FYI

I am not seeing the Cleveland Festival. Still I would mention the following.
1. Ksheerasagarasayana in MMG is a composition of Mysore Maharaja. Sree Kamakoti peetasthithe is the composition of Mysore Sadasiva Rao. (both popularised by MS) The neraval in both the songs by MS is awesome.
2. Aiswarya Sankar is the disciple of Suguna Varadachary. She only will be singing along with SV. Padma Sugavanam is the disciple of Seetha Rajan.
3. Enthu daginado in Thodi is synonymous with Musiri school. I can never forget the neraval in various places for this song done by Late Suguna Purushothaman in a lec dem on neraval.

The amazing thing about Thygaraja's Thodi krithis(all 32 of them -my late mother could sing with clear diction@ 94 years but could not remember our names!!!) was that the krithis start with almost every one of the 7 swaras.).
I returned yesterday night after an uneventful 9 hour drive. Late night I had posted a small piece of my reflections on the Aradhana--which I now note has vanished into cyberspace--now it is going to be very difficult to simulate another "masterpiece"!!! Forgive me for my modesty(?). many people have asked me whether the initial M in my name stands for modesty. Modestly I agreed!!!

Will try to resurrect my fading memories later!!!

Saturday, family time, can't write much. Glad you are all there.

I am only hearing here and there...

Bhushany in fine voice (no vocal support). Her choice of songs and the nidAnam in delivery pleases no end. My yadukula kAmbOdhi too. A lovely mOhanam now, Jayashankar bowing so well. Nannu pAlimpa naTaci vachitivO.

Brinda delivered as expected. Very satisfying (niRaivu) concert. The violin was very sweet and good. Percussion too.
I heard Sundaram say how the varNam was a tAna varNam at first, and then Tiger made it into a pada varNam at Kalakshethra. MDR sang it, of course.

I was also very happy to hear sArangA for the first time this time at Cleveland (anyone else sang it?) nIVADanE gAna, neraval line: satyambu nityambu.

Bhushany singing svarAs which are flowing out of her fluently but with restraint.

for about 12 minutes to yield for Thani Avarthanam.
8. Bushani concluded concert with a thillana by her husband & guru late Thanjavur KalyANarAman.

Every raga and song were presented impeccably with emotion true to her tradition.
