TM Krishna performed Raagam and Taanam only but as a bonus SVK has mentioned it as RTP
T M K did ragam, Vittal Ramamurthy did tanam, and the drum duo played tani avartanam to the tala chosen by T M K.

They should have played drum solo to sankeerna jati Dhruva thalam, set to 16-kalai.

There would have been no time for tukkadas after that.

The only trap everyone has fallen into is the one T M Krishna laid.

Everyone is talking about TMK and not one line about the Sudha Raghunathan-Shashank concert! :))
Was that equally abysmal? :)

Thankfully, I was away at Ragasudha listening to a mellifluous violin solo of an unusually loquacious Padma Shankar.

Fair point , it was clear based on posts that only R and T was there. SVK usually does not sit for the whole concert (atleast on few occasions where I have seen him in skgs)- he kind of writing that the team performed RTP was a needless extrapolation.

Was it the violin or Padma Sankar who was loquacious?

At least, you were at the hall named for Mrs. Raghunathan! :))

Violin was mellifluous. The violinist was loquacious. We were made aware of profound carnatic fundas such as "Padma in a madisaar or a salwar kameez is still Padma :-s "! Probably at the organizers' request since the prog. was being video taped.

Padma in a madisaar or a salwar kameez is still Padma
She was making a musical point, although I forget what the point might have been. I think that she might also have been remembering that an audience member once failed to recognise her at first, shopping in Nilgiris.

But... has anybody ever seen Padma in a madisaar?

It is always a treat to see Padma solo. Some of the loquacity, being obviously to-camera, detracted a little from the to-audience relationship. A little bit like when a friend spends your visit on the telephone to someone else. But still a treat.

It was actually a heart-warming reminiscence of how Thanjavur Sankara Iyer presented Brindavana Saranga at the Music Academy many decades ago dressed up in salwar kameez :-)

That is Brindavana Saranga presented with a Hindustani flavor. She went ahead and presented it in a similar form. It was one of the many highlights of the program.

Oh, great. Amazing :)

The hindustani flavour felt strange at first, but only at first, it soon grew on me.

I noticed that in many review threads half of the writing is about issues not pertaining to the concert - I am wondering if the administrator could create a sub-link called, say "digression" under the specific concert review which would accomodate all discussions that does not pertain to the specific concert under review. Probably this idea was already suggested and perhaps it was costly in terms of effort and time to do....regardless, for those who do not attend the concerts, they might first surf through the main link which review the concert, and then if interested also the sub-link under the main thread.......I am hardly tech-savvy so I do not know how to do it...Just a suggestion hat I thought might help...for ex., this piece of mine is a perfect fit for the "digression" hyper-link (absolutely nothing about the concert), and in that regard, am willing to donate this writing as the opener for it :)

CommonMan: What you raise is a common occurrence in forums of any kind. And your idea is good, but I have not seen an implementation like that in forum software. One possible way is to flag a post as 'digression' . Rather than the mods and admins doing that, like the new reputation points, members can mark them as such and if, say, 3 people say it is digression, it is digression. Then you, as a reader, can have an option to read only non-digression posts, digression posts or both. I do not know if any such feature exists but it will be good to have. I will look around (And this post would definitely be marked as digression ;) ).
