My prayers too. I heard he is recovering well.
Getting back to the topic of this thread...
Would be interested in hearing about the reverse scenario, i.e. Carnatic musicians who also excel in other areas.
Rudrapatnam brothers (or at least one of them) are top-class researchers in Microbiology, I've heard. .
Is Sanjay a Chartered Accountant?
(Of course, Balaji Shankar seems to have left CM and moved into the world of IT, if rumors about him are correct.)

The late Great Nobel Laurate S.Chandrasekhar was a great fan of MMI & actually listened to THE LATEST MMI Concert fully before discussing his own paper when I first met him in 1959! Similarly there are many other greats who instantly recognise GREATNESS! VKV

Sir C.V RAMAN in his house at Raman Research Institute was regularly litening to Violin Maestro Sri T.S.TATACHAR's violin recital twice in a week form 6 pm to 6.45pm. He was very punctual w.r.t.time. He used to be ready at the stroke of 6pm . With rapt attention he was listening. In addition to enjoying music he was observing violin playing techniques like bowing , fingering .variations of sound etc. He was asking Mr.Tatachar to explain him raga , keertana, tala & swara invoved ----T.T.Srinivasan

MGR was a die hard fan of UKS. In a small article in Kumudam or Anandavikatan (I don't remember which) he stated that he often carried a cassette contaiining UKS's mridangam--hearing it he said ---relieved him of stress. In 1976 music season he sat in the front row of MFAC (from beginning to end) and heard a jugalbandhi between TNKrishnan, Pandit Ram Narain (sarangi) UKS on mridangam and Suresh Talwar on tabla. To his right for the full concert sat Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna.
