I am steaming out of the station--old engie that I am. You said it, VK. Misunderstandings abound. As for DKP, she was one of my childhood idols and still is--because of her music AND her all-embracing love.
Anyway, Sanjay would have given another concert, there will be another review--I don't know about others. But this train is definitely whistling out of the station!

Hi Vasanthakokilam, I agree with your point and will let it go. All I am trying to say is DKP is not as simple as an antique we all admit she is much more than that and I am sure arasi also didn't mean to say that. Please try to intervene at the right time so the topics wouldn't go this far. Thank youarasi wrote:Once there were steam engines. A great innovation of the industrial age. They still appeal to us. But diesel trains and electric trains signal progress, and we haven't rejected them. I cast a glance of admiration on our old typewriter when I happen to see it in the attic, but what would I do without my computer!

HeyNarayana: Understood. Thanks.
On a related and lighter note, let me point out a common logical fallacy that is sometimes intentionally used by debaters when metaphors are involved ( and a lot by politicians ).
It goes like this: If (A prefers B ) and (B is like C) then A is like C (!!)
The only logical conclusion you can come to is A may prefer C. Depending on the context, A may wear that implication with pride. Anyway, I digress.

Coolkarniji,
Wow! Kind of a romantic brawl between Veththa kozhambU and malAi kOftA.
Thanks a ton - commingling of that honey spilled voices, melody, and vishayam.
Magical - this intimate blend of antiquity, vivahAram, and organic classicality of music through an extended canvas for reposeful improvisation - one delivering electrifying tans and the other torrents of melismatic phrases with tantalizing flashes is indeed irresistible. Music in its organic form that glows with microtonal nuances transmitting an elusive charm - intangible, gut-wrenching, and eternal - nothing more, nothing less.
Yes, S.K does shake my chord and bring holistic disfunctionality to my system!

Well, as I was packing jAngiri and jelEbi to meet arasi at a comfortable hill station, who left steaming out of this stuffy station, this romantic brawl stopped me on my tracks. And what a lay over it is! Thanks for opening up a new vista to enjoy the chaste and the ustAdi delicacies hand in hand!
