Uggs? You mean it isn't a kind of music?

Something I missed by not reading the boots listing properly, I guess.

I have no excuse: it was even in English!

Dear Music lovers,
I joined the group yesterday and was glad to see a lot of info which otherwise takes a long time to collect/search. I do have strong interest in Carnatic Music and my kids are learning as well here in Singapore.
Rgds,

Welcome, Krishnan!
Kindly start a new thread in the Light Classical section, since your question is about sAvEri in film songs. This way, others can also read about it without your question getting buried in the 'new members' thread. Thanks.

Hai every one,
I need help in finding a carnatic music teacher. I prefer to learn on line.
How can i select a good teacher?
I had a very good teacher but she developed a stroke and when i call her now she says she has forgotten music. everything else is ok , she is able to talk.
God is sometimes very cruel, He takes away your most prized possession whenever he wants.
Thanks again

Till the time you find a good teacher,I have a sincere suggestion. The online store of music collection which is free of course, is the one which can keep you in good touch. You can start collecting them on your PC. Start segregating them in Raagawise, tala wise artist wise......you can also start putting them in same krutis by different artists,by composer's classification.raaga classification.accompaniment wise if you could get the info...so on...isn't it geat fun to do this...you never know you might have discovered a new teacher online automatically. You stand a chance to do a lot research.....gain a lot insight into music,raaga,tala,artists........of any help to you...I am honoured...

hello friends
I am a new member HN Bhagavan from BAngalore.I generally attend music concerts held at Bangalore, but technically not knowledgable.
I enjoy the postings on this forum. My all time favourites are MDR,KVN in vocal. But i listen to younger generation TNS,TVS,SANJAY.Generally male singers have variety and have challenging accompaniments.
This is not to discredit the female musicians who are popular in a way.

Nice to see so many web enabled 'rasikas' for "carnatic classical music". I hope to enjoy your company in the days to come.
I am a Central govt officer working at Belgaum. My wife is a Carnatic Classical musician - vocalist. I have also learnt a bit of violin in order to compete with my wife who is a post graduate/vidwath in Vocal music.
Thanks and bye for the time being.
