Man who normally brings round the plate: Sorry, no cash please. We accept credit cards and checks...

The first sentence is a joke by itself. We all know they are awful for most (or rather all) of the time.

15.9.09, On stage before Concert of K.Lakshmi at Raga Sudha:

Jaya Akka(d/o: SVK mama): Since, this girl sings well and needs encouragement; I fixed ganamAna pakka vAdhyams"¦ (Me & Karaikkal Venkatasubramanian on the violin)..

Me: Yes, ganamAna only... I would not agree more for two reasons"¦ one is, even if you make 3,4 violinists on that side, the side in which I sit will never go like a seesaw"¦ for I am gana-bAdigaL"¦ :)

Jaya: "Oh.. you learnt vEdhAs"¦!!"

Me: "No.. but I wanted to do some justice and prevent myself from feeling guilty, whenever I say 'yaju sAkha adhyAyi' in abhivAdhayE"¦ so, by being a gana-bodygaL, I escape... :P

btw, Venkat.. if a guy chants the vEdham wrongly, what will be his abhivAdhayE?

"neengaLE solleedungO"¦"

May be the mods should just remove the content and add a note that says "Content removed due to <offending reason>" instead of deleting posts altogether.

Dr.Sundar during a TV recording wanted to Sing Ashtapathi -- >

This triggered a series of comedy in my mind :

If Ashtapathi is Difficult : Then it is kashtapathi ...
If everyone likes it : then it is Ishtapathi
If Ashtapathi doesnt produce the desired results : then it is Nastapathi
If Ashtapathi is sung by a bad person : Dushtapathi
If Ashtapathi is sung by the president of India : It is Rashtrapathi ...

and many more .. members pls add on

LOL...
if ashtapathi gives wealth to musicians , then it is lakshmipathi
if ashtapathi is sung little too fast and too gAnaish, then it is gaNapathi

I don't have to explain it but since you are pretending to not know the reason, I can clarify that it was removed because you said people cannot show their protection against AIDS in public

My deleting that post was only because you are a longtime member, in other cases the poster would have been banned

This is not the place for such crass remarks

If Ashtapathi is sung by the shiShyas then: shiShTapathi
If sung by a special person then: vishiShTapathi
If sung by the youngest person in the group kaniShTapathi
If sung by a plumpy vidwan it is puShTapathi
If sung by a disease-prone unluck vidwan it is ariShTapathi
If sung by a wealthy rich vidwan it is bhUpathy
If audience get a feeling then it is sympathy
If nobody take snotice of the singing it is apathy

Want any more :)

Oh yes! If it was sung by a famous mridangist then it was Murugabhupathy :)

In your case, you as a pati will get 'a Sottu' from the better half of the dampati for your drushTi!

SoTTu--old world word perhaps? a pat on the back.

You, not an asattu (without substance) :)

dear cml,

you are 'asset'tu hus(tha)band(ham) only...

btw, asaththu is antonym for saththu too, illiyO...
(not [1] ill - leo but [2]ill - leo)

1. suffering lion
2. king of the house (also, let us enjoy, the wild becoming the domestic)

:) :)

karaDi, vembuli, singattaiyum kaTTalAm, punsters pouncing-aip pacify seyya muDiymO?--aduvum nam aravukkOvE arrive Seidu viTTAl.
My uncle would say asattu (not asaDu--because to me it meant that I did not know, I cried or was meaningless in my utterings). Asattu sounded better, had a meaning which I understood--it meant you were not hopeless, you could become a child of more substance if you tried:)

Of course if sung by a devotee of Siva then it is pashupathy
..and if the person is from Palghat then it is Kalpatthy :)
...and if the person is munching something then it is chappatthy :) :)

Hilarity in living in Metro City Bangalore.

When we are at home, Raga Pravaham provided by Shruti World Space Satellite. When we step out of the house it's vehicle pravaham.

Veeta le Raga Pravaham, Road le Vehicle Pravaham.
