It was a wonderful concert. I was very happy and felt totally totally elated after the amazing concert. All the pieces were rendered with enough weight and the manodarma parts were all too good too. The accompanists were exceptionally good in following the main artist.

It was like listening to Brinda herself.... such wer her gamakaas and the weight in her rendition and the choic of sangathis....a Vidushi of outstanding calibre and knowledge.... Loved the concert....Sri kamakshi was my personal favourite...Reminded me of Brinda.......Really sad that ther are not many concerts of hers this season.....

The composer of the vasatha krithi is Subbaraya satri the mudra being kumaranai , in Telugu Krithis Kumarudu

There is always this problem in this kriti. It also has the mudra of Thiruvarur Ramaswami Pillai as 'vEdapuri' in the caraNam.

Also, I thought the style of this composition, in tamil, and the cittai svara sahityam with a lot of poruttam and svarAksharam at 'mA' was more like the style of the composition 'jagadIsvari' in mOhanam which is a composition of TRP.

Smt. Ritha Rajan said it is a composition of TRP and not subbaraya sastri.

Brinda in live ? If i were so lucky, i wud hav gone crazy by now.... If i had a re-birth, i wud like to see Brinda first and then the rest.... But im too young to have listened to her live.....

Listen to Smt. Brinda's merusamana in toutube with Vegavahini Vijararaghavan. What a beautiful / soulful rendition it is. It is a video. If you have not seen yet, dont miss it.
