Prasanna Venkataraman - Karaikkal Venkatasubramanian - Thanjavur Praveen Kumar

I reached late, as he was singing neraval for the song 'saRRE vilagi irum piLLAi'. It was followed by a stunning rendition of nIrajAkshi kAmAkshi. The main was "muripEmu galigE" in mukhAri. It was a very good concert, that was also well planned and presented neatly.

Well, while I definitely love mukhAri, listening to it concert after concert might be difficult, That's easier with shankarAbharaNam and perhaps kAmbhoji. That said, I like it more than the other rAgas you named (except perhaps sAveri).
I'm happy you haven't named bhairavi as an essential food item.

This was another marvelous kutcheri at the Academy.
Poorvikalyani swarakalpana was amazingly well done. I remember this one particular phrase he put in, it was so blissful that the audience broke out in applause. Mukhari was also extraordinary.
I've only started hearing Prasanna this season, and I must say, he is highly talented. His creativity amazes me. Absolutely no gimmicks (with whatever I've seen),- just pure music. I hope he stays like this; and if he does, I'm sure he'll go quite far. I hope to listen to many many more of his concerts in the future.

Eventhough mukhari is a beautiful ragam and have got many outstanding keertanaas in it by a variety of composers, I observed that this season mukhari had been a favourite of many musicians. Mukhari rasikas must have been very happy.

Almost all young and up and coming artistes have sung muripemu galige last season. Nothing surprising however, a beautiful song and another mukhari swaroopam given by sri thyagarajaswami.
I also love the song.

The very fact his voice astonishingly resembles MMIs voice and also the modulation that he gives to make his voice sound like an old vidwan is a gimmick in itself.
However as long as he gives me good music, he will be on my favourites list. Listen more to up and coming talent and encourage them all. No advertisement here.
