Buying a beginner's book on Carnatic Music

Post by KarnatikLover »

I'm trying to buy a beginner's book on Carnatic music, something that has Sarali, Alankaram, Geetham etc. Is there a way to buy one from the US?
Thanks.

I do not know where you can buy that sangItha bAla pADam book that is commonly used in India but in the mean time you can use the equivalent material here: http://www.ecse.rpi.edu/Homepages/shivk ... tml#basics

hi, try ordering something like ganamruthabodhini via vedambooks. i got a copy for my kid and the delivery was prompt.
there is also an audio cd which teaches/demonstrates the varisai etc. ( 2 volume) from Bombay sisters. i found similar ones from others too. hope this helps somewhat
