Who did not miss this concert? I wish I did. Its all been heard many times before, the same swaras, same kambothi, same so many things...Only saving grace was the absence of the Ennuvar Idarai Kalaivone virutham and certain other stock elements.
I do not intend to review the concert but should there be anyone interested to read its review, he/she need only see the back pages of this forum to find a review of some concert of TVS very similar to the above.
T V Sankaranarayanan, who can give a breathtaking performance at Music Academy this year on the inaugural day, who can enthrall an audience with a spellbinding charukesi, who can send a flood of briga in behag, who can excel himself and sing outside the set pattern he has given unto himself, who at the end of the concert can make one feel disappointed that it had to come to an end, can also bore the audience out of their brains with music of the most hackneyed variety. Keeping the contrast between his Music Academy concert and the above concert in mind, I have to say, as far as the concerts I have attended go, that he is this season's best and the most terribly boring. His Kamalambam Samrakshatu (Ananda Bhairavi), Vadarasane Sriguruprabhavam (Poorvi Kalyani), charukesi and simmendramadhyamam ragas, all from the Academy concert, will always linger in the mind, while the NGS concert will be remembered as one more repetition of the usual. The contrast between his potential and the stuff he delivers concert after concert is plainly annoying.

I don't think a review of his academy concert was written in rasikas. But a good review appeared in The Hindu. Here's the link:
http://www.hindu.com/fr/2010/12/17/stor ... 200300.htm
One of my friends, who came with me to the concert, felt that the violinist should also have received appreciative remark (from The Hindu) for his playing of the thanam. I too feel that way.
T V Sankaranarayanan's raga exposition of charukesi, by the sheer strength of his musical expertise, was heart-melting. Hope that concert gets released on CD.

kssr,
As those who attended the concert, what we wished to see was a specific reference to the violin's playing of the thanam. I did not miss the general comments in The Hindu on the violinist's support, his playing of raga and swaras, when considering, incidentally, that I posted the link to The Hindu here. My reference in the earlier post was only to the thanam. So read properly before you blurt out your response.
