I am trying to create a karaoke for "poo maalaiyil oar malligai" from Ooty Varai Uravu. I tried the trial version of PowerKaraoke CD+G Creator. It didn't remove the vocal. Does anyone have any idea how I can achieve this?
I also like to create a karaoke for "pudu vellai mazhai" from Roja. This didn't work either with the above software.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, Sam. 'For male singers' is a good idea (I do happen to be a male).Sam Swaminathan wrote:Here is a karaoke for the song "Poo.......malligai"...hope this helps

I realize that the "poo malaiyil" was not created by using the original track itself (the lady repeats 'manjam malagaLai ...' unlike in the original). Is it because it is not possible to use any software with this song to remove the vocal alone? Or, are you aware of any software which can remove the vocal?

Re: karaoke vocal remover
Removing the vocal from a song will only succeed occasionally, depending on how it is recorded. In most recordings, the vocal track appears to come from the center, while the instruments are either to the left or the right. The basic "trick" that software uses is to subtract one channel from the other; the hope is that the vocal parts are equally present on both channels, and cancel out; Often, though, other instruments get muffled or cancelled out (so that the sound is tinny or booming) and the voice still leaks through. Another method is to remove certain frequencies (analagous to adjusting an equalizer), but again, this does not succeed very often.
Since you say that you tried a software method and it did not succeed, I'd guess this song is one of those that was not recorded with voice in the center; Just to make sure, please try with a good stereo recording (straight from a CD rip, not downloaded off youtube) to give it the best chance of success ..

Re: karaoke vocal remover
Is there any way to figure out whether the vocal has actually been recorded in the center or to the left or right, or is the only way available is to guess that it is probably not recorded with the voice in the center since the vocal removal didn't succeed? If there is a way to figure it out, I would like to know. Thanks.ShrutiLaya wrote:Since you say that you tried a software method and it did not succeed, I'd guess this song is one of those that was not recorded with voice in the center;
