Dear Rasikas,
I attended this recital with much anticipation given the huge musical potential of a partnership between two highly talented and well trained young musicians. It was for me a very enjoyable experience.
I do not have the song list but they presented kritis in Mohana, Natakurinji, Purvikalyani (khandachapu), Ahiri and an RTP in Shankarabharana -till I left.
Jayanthi got repeat rounds of applause for her improvisations right through especially P'Kalyani and RTP. Kumaresh came into the 'zone' by RTP time.
Vid AV Anand and Giridhar Udupa matched the enthusiasm of the duo.
This combo can be an all time great duo by a true marriage of musical ideas and better decibel management (especially of the violin). They call themselves 'Strings Attached' and have a wonderful chance to show the world what alchemy can be wrought with two beautiful instruments in the crucible of Carnatic classicism.
