The last concert of the Navarathri series in Kanchi mutt ended with a bAng.Being
holiday there was huge crowd and the small mutt premises was filled well before
the concert started.

Got to give it to the fabulous kalyAni Alapana and neraval at
'neevE gatiyani nammi yunTigadA'. Brilliant kalyAni it was.I was hooked
up to his meditative Sree (Sri Varalakshmi) he sung in Gayana Samaj sometime
in July. I wanted to request him to sing since it will be contextual for
Navarathri also. There was a buzz around the audience when he started the
Sree alapana. Guess this has been requested by many got to know post the concert.

nAtA,sahAna came up with his usual trademark electric kalpanaswaras.

Was thinking what he will sing post the main and the second half of the concert
was most melodic and divine. Obliging a reqeust from the audience for 'idhu thAnO
thillai sthalam' and Ahiri was at its best starting with anupallavi,
nyAyamA shrI mInASamma. He did a brief Alapana and sung garuDagamanA.

HM Smitha did good kalyAni alapana and returns.

The ever impressive Arjun Kumar's thani was very special.
