Observations
------------------
1. Delightfully slow and reposeful concert
2. There seemed to be some impedence mismatch at the beginning. Not sure if Sriranjani and KAP have performed that much together. Varnam started in very slow gait.
3. #3 was also stretched out to showcase the beautiful poetry (vandu paada, mayil aada, maan kanru thulla). She announced this as Gnanasambandar thevaram in Thirukkedara pann.
4. It seems the Neyveli family has laid claim to marukkulaviya. Have heard it so many times from both father and daughter including with an extended discussion at the MMU 2017.
5. Percussion support was fantastic for marukkulaviya. Right and left playing was very deft and it felt like a double mrdangam (sans the noise).
6. Edayya gati was sung like a major kriti. In 10 years it will be sung as submain/main, and partly because of this concert.
7. Fantastic Todi alapana, egged on by both KAP and CS. Rarely heard kriti with fantastic scope for sangathis. Again percussion team showed off their synergy.
8. Neraval & swaras were done in extended fashion with swara wise build up afforded by a 3 hour concert.
9. Thani went somewhat over my head. Seemed to start with just one tap for entire avartanam
10. Kaapi raga and tanam were presented in original fashion. This Raga also seems to be going thru some major growth with so many new facets being brought out. Violin return was dispensed with (for lack of time?)
11. Ragamalika swaras were very short lasting just one phrase for each raga, but a lot of ragas were covered.
12. Second day in a row for Abhirami Andhaadi with a Bharathiyar finish. Winning combination!!
13. Tamil slokam for mangalam. Sounded like a translation of Swasthi prajabya of Vijay Siva.
