Hi friends,
Was trying to understand the Raga structure of yar Enna shonnalum krithi
I was referring to this recital of maharajapuram santhanam
https://youtu.be/mNq_O31TK4I
I could majorly listen to madhyamavathi in it.
How do I identify manirangu in it.
Or
Which phrase or line sounds like manirangu.
Is is because madhyamavathi and manirangu are allied ragas I am feeling this way ??
I may be incorrect ......help me in understanding
Madhyamavathi / manirangu - yar Enna shonnalum

MADYAMAVATI, SRI, BRNDAVANASARANGA, PUSHPALAITKA and MANIRANGU - are all allied but quite individual ragas on their own right.
Madhyamavati has no Ga - Manirangu has in Ga in Avarohanam - so that makes it difference for a text book answer.
In the phrase 'Anjaadhey Nenjame' - we can clearly identify Manirangu
