The most accepted version of the ragam is as janya of 28th mELam. However, Brinda-Muktha School sing it as a janya of 22nd mELam with a different gAndhAram.
I have heard Kalpakam mami playing (and singing along) the kriti in the 28th mELa scheme on umpteen times. Chitravina Ravikiran sang the kriti at his conert at musiri chambers according to the B-M pATantaram.

I am wondering if the rAgA AndOLi, used bt Annamacharya in some of his songs, has any connection with AndALi.
