Observations
------------
1. Another great concert. Gift that keeps on giving.
2. Items #1 and #2 set the stage immediately
3. Todi was elaborate. Having heard a lot of todi at the academy over the past couple of days, it could have gotten tiresome. But some original and off beat treatment sustained interest.
4. Post RTP pieces were exquisite with ineffable sweetness in voice. Sai Giridhar made a grand gesture to the audience when she started with Udhikkinra senkathir pointing to her :D

vasu is a common encoding in Sanskrit for the number 8 (because there are 8 vasu-s). tāta can mean different things, including father and lord, exactly like the Tamil word ayyā/ayyan. The composer has used vasutātapuram as a literal translation of the Tamil eṭṭu-ayyā-puram.

Samrakshana Deva - protecting deity

Very unique and interesting expression

Interesting choice of the moon theme for a pallavi on gaNESa given the purANic bad blood between them (https://hindupad.com/story-ganeshas-cur ... ndra-deva/). I'm also not sure what pUrita mukha means - "filled face" :?

Could poorna refer to poornam in kozhukattai and i-banana refer to kadhali phalam? :)
Ganesha loves both these

pUrNacandra = full moon, nothing to do with pUrnam, or kozhukaTTai, or anything else that is edible.
pUrNacandra vadanam wrt to gaNESa is not original - Sri OVK in his nATTai kRti, Ekadanta vinAyakam, describes him as "mAtanga mukha candrabimba vadanam".

ibhAnana = elephant (ibha)-faced (Anana). 'ibanana' may mean banana is Minion-speak...but, unlikely here. ;)
(In the gaNESa pancaratnam, Sri Adi Sankara says 'vinASitEbha daityakam' = vinASita + ibha + daityakam)

pUrita in addition to 'filled' can also mean full/strong, IIUC, so, pUrita mukha ibhAnana could mean 'a strong elephant-faced one'

Ravi,
I was thinking. Sriranjani is known to work on the sahitya well. So,
The first analogy is for the face to be radiant like the moon.
The third phrase says it is an elephant face.
The middle one has to refer to something else.
Mukha can also mean the trunk.
Puurita Mukha may refer to the fact that Ganesha's trunk is filled with= holding an eatable like a modaka. I have seen depictions of Ganesha holding some food in his trunk.

I'd considered this but it still felt like quite the poetic license to a) equate trunk to face and b) equate holding to filling :D like https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dic ... -your-face
