Sadaa Saaranganayanae, maamava, Sadaasivadayitae is an excellent composition in Ranjani raga (Aadi Tala) which MS Subulakshmi has sung on many occasions. The Chittaswara-s deserve special mention. Swarakshara prayoga-s are also there.
I heard this kriti for the first time in a Doordarshan concert of MSS in 1986.
I call upon singers to include this magnificent uruppadi in concerts.

Please find a link below to Smt Radha & Aishwarya singing this at the Music Academy on Dec 13th 2008. The chittaiswaras by Kadayanallur are indeed magnificient. The song was reset to tune by Kadayanallur Venkatraman. Understand from Keerthi that the original tune was also in Ranjani set to tune by Shri Yoganarasimhar.Sivaramakrishnan wrote:Sadaa Saaranganayanae, maamava, Sadaasivadayitae is an excellent composition in Ranjani raga (Aadi Tala) which MS Subulakshmi has sung on many occasions. navarātrī greetings to Rasikas-ites! The site name was mentioned in the article itself. It is http://www.devagitam.in/. Lakshman Sir and Meenaji: rare books have resurfaced, the books of compilations of compositions of maisūr sadāśiva rāō, vīṇā śēṣaṇṇā (of which HYN was one of the editors) and of course, gīta kusumāñjali, the composers' own, with a bonus Roman diacritics version. They're audio clips of compositions rendered by the desecendents as well. May the Divine shower blessings upon the family for documenting the contribution of our vāggēyakāra-s and may they continue to sustain the tradition through their lineage.
