Vatsala Rangaswamy

Post by Lakshman »

I came across some songs of this vaggeyakara on the youtube. The songs are very pleasant to the ear. They are available in a book (in Telugu) titled Vatsalyam. Here is some information on this composer:

'Vatsalyam' is a series of beautiful compositions - written and put to tune by the divine Smt. Vatsala Rangaswamy.
Smt.Vatsala started writing & composing songs with inherent poetic knowledge. She wrote her first song ‘Kantini' in Madhyamavathi while visiting the temple at Tirumala.
Her writing was spontaneous as the words would naturally flow with Bhakti towards the Lord. She wrote more than 600 songs in Telugu, Tamil & Sanskrit.
Smt.Vatsala grew up in Tirupati & had great devotion towards Lord Venkateswara & also towards Tyagaraja Kritis. Her father, the Late Sri Madabhusi Gopalachari, was a famous poet and writer, who translated the Telugu Thiruppavai popularly heard on our YouTube channel.
Here are some links to her songs:
