Navashakthi - A Navaratri Nagaswaram Series

Post by parivadini »

During the pandemic, I was coordinating fundraising activity to support nagaswaram artists in need. It was during that exercise I came to know there were several women who had taken nagaswaram as a profession. Apart from the legendary Ponnuthayi of the past and the current start Kaleeshaabi Mahboob, I didn't know of any of them.

During 2020 navaratri we had featured nine exclusive nagaswaram concerts that was well received. I was very sure that we would feature nine lady artists this time for Navaratri in Parivadini. That is how the Navqshakti Series was born.

I'll post a short profile about the nine couple who are part of the series in the coming days in this thread. Request your support as always.

Fantastic idea. Been watching and enjoying these videos very much. The dedication of artists to their art is amazing, and they deserve so much more recognition than they usually get. Thank you @parivadini!
