The inaugural memorial concert for Ponbhairavi was a Nadaswaram concert. An excellent concert with Bhairavi (What else can there be in a tribute to ponbhairavi?) as main, that too Amba Kamakshi, the Swarajathi masterpiece of Shyama Sastri. Rare compositions such as a Varnam in Sumanasaranjani, an OVK krithi in Arabhi, a krithi in Madhyamavarali, Niroshta were other highlights. Nadaswaram concerts will need to become mainstream instead of being relegated to "kalyaana Kutcheris". Nadaswaram Pidis aplenty. Take a listen.
