I was listening to the song "Kannana Kanney" from the movie Viswasam, sung by Sid Sriram. Looking at the lyrics, there is a phrase whose meaning I cannot fully understand:
"Mayil ondrai PAkiren
Malayaki Adinen"
I know that its literal translation is "I am seeing a peacock and I am dancing like the rain". However, it doesn't quite make sense to me in the wider context - can someone provide a better understanding of what this line is trying to convey?
The full verse:
"Mayil ondrai PAkiren
Malayaki Adinen
Intha utchaham POthum
sAha thondrum
ithE vinAdi."

Re: Meaning of Certain Phrases in Kannana Kanney song.
I think the song is written in context of a father singing for his daughter. Usually poets talk about how a peacock dances for rain in joy but here the father feels he's dancing like the rain on seeing his daughter who he imagines to be like a peacock..
