Attack of the Vidwans and Vidushis, eh? ;) It would be easy to run one's eye down the names without the unnecessary salutations. Not a big deal.

Thanks for the listing, it is much appreciated. I especially hope to see R.A. Ramamani's performance, as I was very struck by her voice on a CD recording some time back, but have never seen her sing.

Edited that Nick. Had copied that from the invitation!! Do post a review of Ramamani's concert in case you attend it. Will appreciate that.

Thanks, it does make it easier to read --- although it is a sensitive subject for some.

I will post about the concert if I attend it, although it will be just another of my subjective commentaries. I am not up to song lists and proper technical criticism!

I have a "variety" CD from the Karnataca College of Percussion people, River Yamuna, and her performance of Raga Sudha (probably mis-spelt, sorry) on that recording I have always found very striking. Her konnakal performance is impressive too.

If folks do not know, Ramamani is mrudangist T.A.S.Mani's wife. Their son plays percussion too, if I am not mistaken.

Phew!

I thought for a minute you said that Ramamani was the mridangist, and I'd got the names mixed up.

I've certainly made sillier mistakes!

But you didn't and I hadn't.

I see he is playing on the 28th, so might make a musical weekend of it.

Arasi... I always regard you as a youngster, believe it or not, and meeting you did nothing to dispel that impression.

I'm the doddery one!
