lakshman,
Thanks for letting me savor VVSadagopan's ParthasArathy (sArathE in some paDAantharams). His sweet voice and diction (in any language) was a treat to the listeners. Himself a composer, his sensitivity for the lyrics came through in his performances. He was way ahead of his time, and his ideas (including his creation of songs for children--Tyagabharathi songs, went almost unnoticed until recently). Composer, scholar, professor, writer in english and tamizh, an intellectual, entertainer and great conversationalist, he was way ahead of his time, and as a result, we miss out on his music--there are very few recordings of his, I am afraid. Hope I am proven wrong by fellow rasikas. The few that I have are very poor recordings that take away the pleasure of listening to him.
Hoping someone would take this to the Vidwans Section and bring some old treasures. I am keeping my fingers crossed...

Lakshman,
May I please have those? Wonder if there is more out there. Is it possible to shift this to Vidwans Section and hope for the best? I am looking for VVS's own compositions like 'AdAram nIthAn enRaRindEn, aRindu sharan aDaindEn', etc...
Coolji? Are you listening? An AIR concert would be nice!

Lakshman,
These are his Tyagabharathi Children's Songs (Tyagaraja+Bharathi became the name for his movement which encouraged children to develop their natural love for song--Jai Joy! was the mantra). It was only in the nineties that his family brought out his children's songs on tapes. They sing them with his grandchildren--Vijaya Srinivasan is one of his daughters.
I am looking for VVS's own rendering--his compositions in CM and more by way of concerts, AIR programs and so on.
I was lucky enough to hear him sing ALL of Ambujam Krishna's 51 songs in volume one of her Geethamala which he set to music. His bhAvA laden voice is still fresh in my memory...
