Namasthe,
I was at the sisters concert and as usual it was brilliant. Their concert was preceded by Hyd Brothers who also sang well, but at the end of the Brothers concert preople were walking out and in distracting the rasikas and the organisers didn't seem bothered at all. In this respect Music Academy has a good system where in the rasikas can't wander in and our at least for the paid concerts.
Coming to the sisters concert, here is the play list.
1 ChintaDeercharaSeetaRamana Sourashtra Adi PoochiSrinivasaIyengar
2 NayakaNaaInta Darbar Andal
3 ParidanaMichite Bilahari Khandachapu PatnamSubramaniaIyer
4 SriSatyanarayanam Subhapantuvarali Rupakam Dikshitar
5 SarasaSamaDana Kapinarayani Adi Thyagaraja
6 RamaKathaSudha Madhyamavati Adi Thyagaraja
7 AadumChidambarame Behag Adi GopalakrishnaBharathi
8 RaghuvaraTumuho Chakravakam
9 RamanamaHadatoJavoMajaPrana Chenchurutti Tukaram
10 BhootaMote Abhang Ekam Tukaram
Surprisingly they didn't sing the RTP. I thought it was a norm for the musicians to sing a RTP at famous sabhas atleast during the season.
The alapana for both Subhapantuvarali and Madhyamavati was excellent.
The highlight of the concert was the abhang.
More reviews will be appreciated from the rasikas who attended this concert.
I didn't not write down the name of the accompanists.
Regards,
Prasad

Thanks Mridangam and Vasantakokilam for the replies. I should say the sisters are a pleasure to watch them sing. The co-operation they have and the way they communicate with each other that "Anyonnatha" is remarkable. Gayatri can really play with her voice. She is so versatile and her voice is so fine, I can't explain. I like the way she shakes her head and the hand when giving heavy gamakas.
I also attended the concert in Melbourne on 14th march which was very good as well. Good RTP in Simhendramadhyamam. may be I should start a new topic for melbourne concert????????
Also I didn't see any review for the sisters concert at Narada Gana Sabhan on the 27 Dec 2008. I can give the paly list for that as well.
thanks for providing the names of the accompanists.
Regards,
Prasad
