It would be instructive and time well spent if music takes precedence over gossips especially with someone who has been at the top for so long . She has got an enviable combination of a great voice, excellent sruthi alignment and good laya skills. I have found her korvais to be more intricate and difficult to read than most artistes. The one disconcerting issue in some of the recent concerts is that she has started to develop voice problems and is taking quite a bit of time to warm up.

I was recently browsing through one of the very popular Tamil magazines (Kumudam/Kungumam dont remember) and found snaps of Sudha Raghunathan's trip to Mexico. Its nice to know that they have visited different places. However, the photographs published in that article were best relegated to their personal photo albums, considering the way they were attired. ...
I remember seeing that piece. Apart from sudha raghunathan, it featured priya sisters, charulatha mani, nithyashri etc. So it is not fair to single out ms. raghunathan for appearing in mufti! in any case all singers were dressed respectably. pavarotti was pictured on a beach with a scantily clad secretary, also later leading to his divorce. this do not detract from his reputation. cut our poor singers some slack.
we should maybe look askance at some audience goers who turn up in shorts and stinky terlene tshirts and honourable MPs who take part in national televised parliament session wearing baseball cap!

On that note, who are the prominent disciples of Sudha to carry forward the MLV/Sudha style?

I'm not sure but there was one promising vocalist called Sangita Swaminathan. I think she is now in the US. There are also a few disciples of Charumathi Ramachandran, Amrutha Venkatesh being the most popular, though I feel she has a distinct style of her own. Then you have juniors like Vasudha Ravi who I presume follows the MLV bani.

Sangeetha Sivakumar/Krishna is also a prominent disciple of Charumathi Ramachandran. Of course there is Shubasree Ramachandran as well.

I think this is only a portion. i remember seeing snaps of sudha raghunathan in shorts and panama hat and also nityashree in front of st.pauls or some such domed building. also priya sisters singing in salwar due to non-arrival of baggage
