This concert was organized as part of the Raghavandra Aradhana, at the Ayodhya Mandapam in West Mambalam. The selection of songs for the evening included a combination of krithis by Purandaradasa, and songs by other composers in praise of lord Krishna and Raghavendra Swami, which are not very often heard in today’s concerts. This fine mix of songs made the concert interesting for the listener as well as the student of music. The song list was thus

The recital started off majestically with the popular Maha Ganapthim. This was followed by a very brief outline of Panthuvarali and the krithi Idhu Bhaage. Next was a powerful rendering of Hindolam and the krithi Yaare Rangana. The line chosen for Neraval cannot be more apt than this description of the Lord - "Venu Vinodhana Praana Priyana - The One who works wonders with this flute, the One who is as dear as life itself"
