Parimala Rangapathe - MMI : just pallavi?

Place to go if you want to ask someone identify raga, tala, composer etc or ask for sāhitya (lyrics) or notations or translations.

According to TR Subramaiam it is a song that has gone out of vogue. The pallavi is set up using part of the lyric.

There is a parimalaraNganAtham bhajEham vIranutam in hameerkalyAni of MD, I am not sure if the lyric is out of that though few keywords are there

Thanks for bringing this up. I have always wondered whenever I listen to MMI's Kamboji RTP. 'Parimala Rangapathe Maam Paahi' and the following swaras are truly scintillating! MD's HamirKalyani lyrics are also about the same deity (from TiruIndalur near Mayavaram) but seems distant to this pallavi. I thought that MMI came up with that as he lived in Mayavaram for some time...
