As usual another excellent concert by T M Krishna on the concluding day of the 10th anniversary of susvaralaya college of music. He started off with a thodi varnam and followed with sriranjani and chakravakam. Then came a quick bilahari. It was an excellent choice of suruti for the main item, that too gitarthamu which is normally sung towards the end of concerts. The ragam was rendered excellently both by Krishna and HK Venkataram. THere was no swaram sung after the neraval.
We were very fortunate to have heard Vid T K murthy today. His playing at the age of 86 is something that needs to be seen to be believed! He played a scintillating thani along with Vid Trichy murali.
After the Suruti was a surprise RTP in Tharangini with ragamalika sung during the pallavi.
Vid HK Venkataram also gave excellent support on the violin. His playing especially for the RTP was very good.
