The occasion was Shri Ariyakudi day, but incidentally for the 4 performers there were just 15 in the audience on a saturday night. I liked harish's(disciple of Vijayashiva) natajana paripaala the most.THe below average was his rushed gAnamurthi. One has to give him a lot of credit for taking shankarabharanam with a fairly complex ST krithi .
His viruttam was nice and the thillana was very good ,however other tukkadas were average. I am told that Harish also plays violin (keeping with DKJ disciple parampara). Harish sister(roopa)??? was also quite good in violin. The mridangist swaminathan(disciple of poongulam ) played energetically though the tani was flat. . Sasi's play was just average, but his smile masked all the serious faces of the other 3 artists.
