The venue is close to my office.My earlier plan to go to Ragasudha to attend TNK'S violin recital got cancelled since my friend withdrew at the last minute and so as a choice I went to this concert.
But once I was there my enthusiasm shot up on seeing the crowd and its variety and I almost became childlike.
The crowd was mixed.There were around 300 CM fans occupying the chairs coming earlier and also sitting on the floor.There were close to 700 commoners for whom a CM concert is something quite new.
My enthusiasm built up since I wanted to know what the artists are going to cater to such a crowd.
I was in for a surprise since the concert didn't deviate from the sabha format and the overwhelming response from the crowd.See,we were only thinking that a heavy music like Carnatic will be appreciated only by a selected group but the response shows that it is definitely not so.

About the artists & concert
This is the second time I am listening to them in live.
Attending their concert is like watching a James bond movie where you know for certain the hero is going to win.
It was simply listening pleasure.The sisters also don't bother themselves about manodharmam,vyavaharam,etc.They are always the crowd's pet.
Both have good voice and are able to weave nice sangathis though there is nothing new about the presentation.The Hamsanadham has shades of HM ( Why every other artist tries to embrace HM style ? Can't understand since Last week's concert of Trichur Bros.@ Bharat Kalachar also was similar during handling of this ragam ) but it was full of melody and sounded good.
The Mohanam shared by the sisters was good reminding me of Qawali type of singing.
The Hamsanandhi virutham by Ranjani was in typical TVS style.Gayatri wove some intricate sangathis in her Sindhubhairavi exposition and drew instant applause.
Amrutha played well though Gayathri was looking at her with sneer during her replies.
Delhi Sairam played a great role in keeping the crowd under his spell.
A people friendly concert that had classicism also in good measure.
