Keerthi, I join you in inviting rasika-s to listen today's Radio Program of Smt Rama Ravi.
Rightly said, "who still possess a radio"!
A true carnatic music Rasika must own a radio with AM band. Chennai A (Medium Wave frequency) broadcasts several good concerts and is the lone saviour of Veena Music.

Rightly said Mr.Sivaramakrishnan,
I always try to listen to concerts on radio, especially Chennai "A" station which regularly keeps broadcasting concerts of 1 hr duration. National programme on saturday & sunday nights at 9.30 is also must on my schedule to catch up with some very good classical music.
Last sunday morning there was a broadcast of an old recording of Sri. DKJ's Papanasam Sivan's krithis.

As I was expecting a typical kutcheri fare from Smt Rama Ravi with varnam, kritis of trinity, a couple of padams and a javali, I must admit I was disappointed to some extent!!
But programme was excellent with songs in various hues. The Bahudari piece (tuned by Nedunuri?) deserves to be absorbed in the routine concert circuit by our musicians. Saveri aalaapana was grand.
Was it that Nandita (her daughter) couldn't accompany due to AIR's strictures of gradation?

AIR concerts may have copyright restrictions on those that are commercially released by them. I am aware AIR has commercially released many of the AIR concerts of yesteryear musicians. If a concert has been aired for public listening, I doubt if they can restrict sharing them. However, I am not sure how to make out if a concert has been commercially relased by them or not
