Finally I have recovered after one week of rest at home- slept almost 12 hours a day catching up sleep as I hardly slept 3-4 hours every day during my trip- my way of stretching a 20-day 'India experience' to 35 days!Barely 2-hours after reaching India, I was at the Lec-dem in Music academy by Kanyakumari followed by an outstanding concert by Nedunuri Krishanmurthy. It was a great sight to see the vidwan encouraging his star disciples- Malladi brothers who were providing him vocal support. He mentioned at the end of the concert that this was his 50th consecutive concert at the Academy. After a attending a few more afternoon concerts, I went to the TNS concert at Parthasarathy Sabha. What a concert it was! Saveri was the main piece and it was almost 9.15PM when I felt that the concert will end without an RTP. The crowd was getting thinner but the vidwan gave us all a pleasant surprise. What an amazing RTP it was- Ahiri and surutti. After doing a grihabedam to Keeravani he even gave a mini lec-dem about the origin of that ragam. A word of advise to the organizers at Partha sarathy sabha.. please keep a wash basin in the rest room and make it mandatory for workers in the canteen to wash their hands after visit to the restrooms!
