Shanti - A Journey of Peace, 3/13/2010 in Houston

"Shanti" is an expansive, collaborative theater production that portrays Indian traditions in a unique manner - through western choral and orchestral music combined with Indian classical music and dances, with over 150 people performing on stage. Most performers will be Houston residents. This is a great multimedia show that involves Indian and Western Choral traditions that is being brought to Houston. It includes music, dance, and lighting. The United nations International choir is our western choral partner. The dance cast includes renowed dancers from the Houston community.

The message of Shanti is that when we see oneness and interconnectedness in all of creation, then, creativity, originality, freedom, and love prevail. If on the other hand, we see only divisions, then we are left with greed, aggression, and conflict.

Shanti-2010 is all set to become one of the most spectacular theater performances to be held in Houston. The proceeds of the show benefit AIM for SEVA, a not for profit working to further the cause of education among the underprevileged populations of India. AIM For Seva touches the lives of over 2.5 million people in 1,000 rural and tribal villages across 15 states in India.
