Could someone please confirm if the Ragam in this Audio Clip is Chala-Nattai ??.
This query is for Chala-Nattai, NOT for the janya Ragam : Nattai.

If the Audio Clip is neither Chala-Nattai nor Nattai, pl specify the correct Ragam, and any other useful details. Thanks.

A) It sounds like the beautiful Koteeswara Iyer kriti “Edhaiya gathi” in Chalanata. In fact, between 0:34 to 0:38, the violinist plays the starting line of that song. So I say the raga in the clip is chalanata.

Please do a google search before asking for lyrics. You don't have to wait for the answer.

Also, a piece of advice from a fellow traveler in the raga identification path. Don't be so focused on janya-janaka. It offers no help at all. Many janya ragas are adopted children, no genetic connection at all to the janaka.

This time too, I searched as follows :
http://www.karnatik.com/ragas.shtml -> Clicked on "calanATTai" in the Drop-Down Menu, and then, clicked on "Go to raga" : It opens the page :
http://www.karnatik.com/ragasc.shtml#calanATTai, and lo !, you cannot find any Ragam or any song pointed to as is the normal way in this site.

Try yourselves, and check.

Want to know the reason ?
It is because this song is listed under "calanaaTTai", NOT as "calanATTai", which the above Raga Menu pointed to !.

Thanks for yr unsought advice on many Janya Ragams being so called "adopted children", with "no genetic connection" to the the Parent Ragam ...

I understand this only very well.

However, my view is that once we have a Classification structure in place, it is better that we know the precise rules by which classification for EACH Ragam has been done.

You may have yr views - just like another member Keerthi has her own views - for her : "Ar/Av borders on being useless !!"

In spite of any no of arguments, I am NOT buying this view.
Everyone is open to have his / her views.
