Sumitra vAsudev singing a very good slokham in Dikshitar lecdem recently pulled me to hear this vidushi in a live concert. It appeared that she was not feeling too well as there was some noticable throat adjustments too many times.Nevertheless a great concert.

She started with a nice gowlai swarams and a very good harikAmbOdhi followed.rAmanAtham bhajeham is always a significantly different pantuvarAli than other popular ones of thyagarAja/ST that I usually like more . She sang quite well with an excellent neraval in "kAmitha vara prada devam".Swarams were ok . balahamsa was nice aptly connecting her to her guru Smt Vedavalli .

The surprise was the rAga alApanai of husEni which fell in my ears as mukhAri. I have to confess that I have not heard too much of husEni alApanai , but it always shows itself somewhere in between mukhAri and Anandabhairavi. The imperfect husEni
was followed with a perfect husEni in her rendition of ramA ninne . A rare sAmantha was very good.

Nice always to hear a madhyamAvati as a main after a long time. ramakathasudha was sung very good in both alApanai and neraval .Swarams were just ok to me. I had to leave at the end of a good tani. Satish violin was just good
