There are a couple of words in this song,which need correction.1 'kundalalankrita" and 2 "vittalana" It is rather difficult to bring out the essence of the devaranama in translation.Anyway I have tried."Meditate on Bharati Devi.It is the source of devotion.'[p]1 "The consort of Brahma,reputed and delicate.Lotus eyed,abode of piety and compassion.[c 1 ] The anklets on your lotus feet.emanate the melody,kinkini kinikini.while bracelets and rings decorate your arms.[c 2] Shankara and reknowned dieties worship at your feet,You bestow compassion on Purandara Vittala.[humbly apologising to Sri Purandaradasa varenya]

1) What does 'manE manE' mean?
2) Is mAruta brahmA? Contextually, I know it has to be, given that sarasvati is brahmA's ardhAngi. But, I have not heard that used for brahmA (purandara dAsaru refers to sarasvati as 'ajana paTTada rANI' and 'brahmana rANi' in koDu bEga divya mati). mAruta I assumed would have something to do with either vAyu or hanumAn.

rshankarji."mane"means residence/.home.I think the way you pronounce the word 'Maruta' gives a different meaning,sanskrit being a many hued language.You are right.Maruta is associated with Vayudeva and Maruti {Anjaneya]. I am confident that experts in sanskrit may have something to say.Thank you

I felt I missed on an essential issue in the translation of 'Bharatideviya nene nene' The context of the word 'Kinkari' in the last line 'kinkari Purandara vittalana karune was eluding me.Kinkari literally means a maid.Just as Dasavarenya has written "Hoova taruvara manege hulla taruva"[He brings fodder to the devotee who brings flowers,] Kind and compassionate, Bharati Devi can be a maid to the true devotee of Purandara Vittala. The word "MARUTA' in "MARUTANARDHANGI' is to be pronounced as MA IN 'MAHAVISHNU' .Maruta,is one of the myriad names of Brahma .
