This is one other of the poignant songs in nandanAr carittiram. The Lord appeared in nandanAr's dream and asked him to come to Cidambaram after the field work was done (with the help of the Lord's myrmidons). The landlord also gave his permission for nandan to go. But after reaching Cidambaram nandanAr was looking for signs from the Lord so that he can enter the city. Since he didn't get any, his anguish increased as reflected in this song. So he resolves to go around the city several times hoping his physical form would change enabling him to enter the temple.
