Shashikiran’s sriranjani raga alapana was filled with captivating phrases. Ganesh gave a nice presentation of Jana ranjani, Sivaranjani and reversed the order. Tanam ragamalika had nayaki neelambari n surati which was well received and the violinist Nagai Muralidaran excelled too
In the pallavi pratiloma n anulomam were done apart from tisram which drew a lot of applause. For the pallavi the swarams were linked interestingly in different speeds n nadais to “brahma gana lolane eashane” to highlight the sabha.
Since the pallavi itself came up as ‘audience request’, looked like the duo set the pallavi ON STAGE ! Quite rare to see such creativity and spontaneity !!!
Neyveli venkatesh on the mridangam gave great support too !!!
A very interesting concert and a fabulous presentation by the team !

I meant the Swaras in Sriranjani !! Alapana was only in Ranjani by Shashikiran.
