Getting started with Arasi's compositions...here's the first - the wonderful kuRai tIrppAn guhan.
pallavi
kuRai tIrppAn guhan, konjum mozhi pEsi--en (kuRai tIrppAn)
He who dwells deep within my consciousness (guhan) [1] will speak (pEsi) sweet (konjum) words (mozhi) to ease/remove (tIrppAn) my (en) concerns (kuRai).
anupallavi
maRaindiruppAn, maruL koNDE alaindAl
maRu kaNam muRuvalODarugil vandE kuzhaivAn--en (kuRai tIrppAn)
He will remain concealed (maRaindiruppAn) if (we were to) roam about (alaindAl) in ignorant bewilderment (maruL koNDE), but then, the very next (maRu) second (kaNam) he will come (vandE) close by (arugil) with (ODu) a playful smile (muRuval) and show tender concern (kuzhaivAn). (He who dwells deep within my consciousness will ease my concerns).
caraNam
varuvAn, vandaruL karam taruvAn kaDum iruLilum oLiyAit tigazhvAn,
inba mugam kATTi ennODizhaivAn innaruL mazhai pozhivAn--en (kuRai tIrppAn)
He will come (varuvAn)! And, as he comes (vandu) he will grant/extend (taruvAn) his benevolent (aruL) hand (karam) in support. Even in the most impenetrable (kaDum) darkness (iruLilum), he will shine (tigazhvAn) like a bright beam of light (oLiyAi). Revealing (kATTi) his loving (inba) face (mugam/mukham), he will shower (mazhai pozhivAn) sweet grace (innaruL) and become one with me (izhaivAn) [2] with me (ennODu). (He who dwells deep within my consciousness will ease my concerns).
